Torre del Tartufo is brilliant. The setting, the staffing, the cooking, the other guests in my class Sept. 13-16th, the tours, the comfort and kindness, all added up to a perfect first taste of Italy. I will be back. Especially I must recommend Barbara, the manager, for her constant and unobtrusive attention to detail AND for her breakfast pancakes. The chef Franco is a born teacher and so obviously loves his work that it's catching. The whole experience put the 'fun ' back in cooking for me.
