Best week of my life :) I was a bit scared about sending money... But was very relieved when Barbara picked me up from the train station. (The best way to get to Poppi is to get one of the national trains from http://www.trenitalia.com to get to the town of Arrezo, then from Arrezo station, go to the tabaco counter, and get a ticket to Poppi on the local trains - there should be one every hour, though the time varies...)
Everything was better than I had expected - Barbara and Daniela (and I'm sure many others!) magically made everything run so smoothly. Every morning we woke up to wonderful breakfast, followed by a full day of cooking and eating. Oh, and the wonderful selection of wines, even the house wine is great. (Must try the Vin Santo!)
Our sweet sweet teacher, Laura, was a saint! She taught us so many different dishes, and what a cook! I'll always remember the dinner on the first night. The accommodation was extremely comfortable. You didn't feel like you were staying at a hotel at all. It was more staying at someone's home.
If you're thinking about doing a cooking course in Italy, then do this.
