“Bravo!!!”

I have to say that this is by far the most beautiful property I have ever had the good fortune to stay. I am going to sound a bit redundant with the previous reviewers, but this was the vacation of a lifetime. Talk about scenic vistas!! Everywhere I looked reminded me of a postcard. We typically relaxed by the pool or took hikes in the mornings after breakfast, and cooking class typically started at 3:00 p.m. Franco (the chef) made the cooking great fun - we learned a great deal and left with wonderful recipes to repeat for our family and friends. I will admit that we rented a car with the intention of exploring local villages in the mornings before class - that plan was ditched after we were introduced to the property and the wonderful people staying there. We opted to stay around the villa with the exception of our excursion and free days. Alex and Lena were marvelous hosts and they, along with the rest of the staff, ensured every detail and want was attended to.

Don't miss the excursion day - what a highlight! We visited a wine estate for a tour and wine tastings, an olive estate for a tour and lunch, a goat farm, and a lovely village (Anghiari) known for its textiles. Several of us chose to visit the village of Cortona on our free day - it was a beautiful place to explore. Others selected to visit Sienna and Florence.

The comradery established with the other guests as we cooked in teams throughout the week was strong, and we are already planning a reunion back at Torre del Tartufo! Fantastico!!!
