In terms of travel, your best bet is to fly into Florence as this is the closest airport (1 hour and 15 minutes). If you can get good deals to either Pisa (2 hours and 15 minutes) or for that matter Rome (3 hours) or Milan (4 hours by fast train), this is also a possibility.

We recommend car hire.  You are more flexible if you have a car as you have plenty of free time when not attending your Tuscany cooking classes, to explore the area. The villa is about an 8 minute drive from Poppi (the closest village), so quite remote.  Your best bet is to rent a car at the airport.  Most reputable car hire companies are represented and the prices are similar.  You can book your car on-line so it’s ready when you land. It is possible to take the bus from Florence to Poppi. The bus drive is about two hours in a comfortable bus right from the center of Florence.

Alternative transportation is to take the train. From Florence you can take the train to Arezzo and from there you change trains to Poppi station.

If you arrive by bus or train, we can arrange for someone at the villa to collect you and drive you up to the villa and back to the station on departure.

We can arrange transfers to and from Florence airport on request or your hotel or other airports in the area.

If you choose this option, you might feel a bit stranded once you are at the villa. However, if your goal is to relax during your free time from the Tuscan cooking classes, you may find that you don’t need one.
